After checking on line for several hours, I found that the cheapest replacement would be $ 100.00 and as high as $179.00. This equated to 20 to 30% of my original cost of the refrigerator.

Something I was determined was not going to happen. I found that the cause was the fact that this alleged heavy solid handle was hollow at the point of the most stress, which is where they all appear to be breaking. Frigidaire I guess could care less about their customers and has not addressed the defect. What I finally did was bought a straight zinc mending brace.

The one I bought was from Lowes. It fit the top 2 holes in the refrigerator door perfectly (use both pieces of the broken handle) You will need to drill two small pilot holes in the top of the handle for the other two screws.

You can not see the brace when the door is closed and if it bothers you to see it. You can paint it white or cover it with heavy white plastic tape.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $110.

Preferred solution: Replace the known defective door handle. .

Frigidaire Cons: Also wide swings in temperatures same as the first one.
