Frigidaire PLRU1778ESO - This unit is a piece of garbage, I had bought on in 2007 and since it has stopped cooling to date 5 times, that is an average of every year the same thing.Since purchasing it I had the extended 5 year warranty purchased on it with all the other appliances and I am thankful I did because the first incident was just after the one year warranty manufactors warranty.

I really wanted back then to just return the unit and get something else because I had a bad feeling it was no good after when I read some depressing reviews. But I kept it and regret it to this day. Just after I have had just about every part replaced so it works and when my 5 years on the extended warranty lapsed, it broke again on New years day! So now I am using my garage to keep my food cold.

I am not going to pay for more repairs to have it break down for the some cooling issues in a years time. I have in the past contacted both frigidaire and elextrolux regarding this issue and have never really recieved any help.

This company can not stand by its products especially the ones they know are flawed, interestingly enough they have discontinued the is "wonderful" product.I wonder why?

bought PLRU1778ESO 2007.Compressor issues 3 times.

Now- same story as above. Using garage fridge. Unit discontinued so can't replace with exact unit.

Built my kitchen around so have to find something that 'fits' .May not be cost effective to replace AGAIN.

well if yours has broken out of warranty like my fridge did (1month out) they will offer free parts and pay labor, or discount toward buying another piece of *** fridge, well i just scrapped mine to rid my house of the frigidaire curse of crappy propduct ( and of course ours failed on a weekend-full of newly purchased food )

unreliable cheap ***...

I have contacted the canadian electrolux to request help.I have submitted all the paper work they have requested to review my file.

I am waiting to see how long it take them to come up with an answer. I am still to date using my garage as a refrigerator, luckily the cold weather has allowed us to do so.

I am waiting for thier reply before I go out an find something else.Wish me luck.

After submitting all the paper work as requested I got this response. I am grately disappointed, I think what is being offered by the company is nothing but a joke. The least they could done is send someone to fix my refrigerator not send me a joke of a discount to puchase yet another *** product. Rest assure I will not purchase another one electrolux product ever again.

Electrolux is happy to offer you a rebate of 20% toward a new appliance.

Please follow the instruction on the rebate.

best way to assist you is to offer you a manufacturer's rebate on a new appliance. Brands

eligible for this rebate offer are: Frigidaire, Kelvinator, White-Westinghouse, Gibson &Tappan.

Excluded from this rebate are any products manufactured by our company for private label

retailers such as Sears/Kenmore, etc.

The next day I got this email. And sent a prompt response.

Thanks for contacting Frigidaire Canada. Unfortunately your unit is 5-6 years out of warranty. We are unable to assist you at this time, and the service reports that were submitted are not up todate. Have a great day.

Unfortunately you have no idea what you are doing or saying in your job. I recieved a rebate based on the same reports I had previously sent that you claim were not received. l had sent them again at your request in case there was something missed on your end. Obviously there was. Just another example of poor communication in your department were the consumer would get screwed. Rest assure you won't be hearing fron me again as I don't plan on using the rebate as the small selection of were I can purchase and the few models I am permitted to buy do not suit my needs. But I am sure the company was counting on that. It is not right to tell a customer where he or she can or can not spend their money, after all the rebate offered is way less that what I can go out and get at the stores. I will make sure to let as many people aware of this experience poor quality of the appliances you make on Internet blogs and consumer reports.

Thanks for wasting my time.

Seriously disappointed.
